Problems Parents Face Making Quick Healthy Meals
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010One of the biggest problems that many parents face is how to make quick, healthy meals for their children on a low budget. As many a working mother will tell you, after spending all day slaving over a hot computer, the last thing you feel like doing is making a three-course meal for your family with tons of washing up. Of course you would like to sit down with a good book or kindle or ipod and listen to a audio-book, while the maid cooks dinner, yeah right!
Instant type meals are usually chock full of junk, and very unhealthy, there quick but NOT healthy! The best is a quick nutritious meal that doesn’t take hours to prepare. One of the cheapest ways to feed the family is chicken, You can use the wings to make a soup and the rest of the chicken can be put in the oven with some potatoes, chopped onion, and some spices sprinkled on the stop for flavor. All you need to do is wait an hour while it bakes. There is a little to wash up, and always remember about cleaning up after chicken.
If you are a vegetarian, another solution is pasta. All most any kids will sit and eat pasta, of most kinds, with just cheese and flavoring.
Another great way to feed the whole family is with eggs, studies have shown that eating eggs should not raise your cholesterol. Theres a few delicacy’s like Shakshuka, a middle eastern combination of eggs, fried with tomatoes and onions is a favorite in many homes. Served on top of rise it makes a quick nutritious meal with little to no mess.
For the working parent out there, anything quick and easy is the plan for dinner, that is why McDonald’s is the choice of to many.
